The studies listed below were created by many community partners dedicated to envisioning New Braunfels’ future. Reports are from a variety of sources, such as the City of New Braunfels, neighborhoods, adjacent communities, and various public and private agencies dedicated to improving the quality of life in New Braunfels and the region. Downtown Implementation Plan

The Downtown Implementation Plan serves as a roadmap for the City, development community, and stakeholders to spur economic development and direct public revitalization projects in Downtown New Braunfels. It was unanimously approved by City Council in January 2010.

The Stormwater Management Strategy details New Braunfels’ approach to protecting water quality. In addition to identifying the best management practices necessary to reduce the discharge of pollutants into its waters, the program also provides an implementation schedule.

Economic Development Demographic Profile

New Braunfels Economic Development Council (NBEDC) is a non-profit umbrella organization that serves as the public/private partnership involving the City of New Braunfels via the Type 4B Board (NBIDC), Greater New Braunfels Economic Development Foundation (GNBEDF), Comal County, New Braunfels Utilities (NBU), and The Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce (GNBCC). This study provides up to date information related to job and business growth in New Braunfels.

Economic Development Strategic Plan

Many New Braunfels residents participated in this planning process, which commenced in February 2012. The participants were organized into the following four committees, which performed the majority of the work to develop the vision, mission, goals, objectives, strategies and action items found in New Braunfels’ strategic plan.

Parks & Recreation Master Plan

This document is the culmination of an extensive planning process involving the elected officials, staff, Parks and Recreation Steering Committee, and most importantly the citizens of New Braunfels. It represents a vision for the parks system over the next ten years. This document is intended to guide the parks system, but also incorporates flexibility in responding to unique opportunities as they arise.

Alamo Area MPO Bicycle & Pedestrian Study

Working together as part of the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO), member communities have committed themselves to improve walking and bicycling throughout the region. As the region continues to grow, so does the need to plan for and implement walking and biking facilities and programs.

Throughout the Vision 2040 process, community input helped shape and update VIA’s Long Range Plan. The Long Range Plan envisions a region with a multimodal network of options, improved frequency, and an expanded service area.

Solid Waste Management Plan

Using the Plan, the City intends to have a positive and lasting impact on all aspects of solid wasteservices provided to the residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. The Plan will establish the foundation for cost-effective, long-term management of solid waste by thecity of New Braunfels for the 20-year planning horizon, 2020-2040.
