1945: Elmo Arnold Becomes Third Chief of Police

Elmo Arnold (above, center) was a second generation police officer and served in the U.S. Army during World War I.  He served as the New Braunfels Chief of Police from 1945 to 1953.  Following his death in 1987 he was buried in St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery in New Braunfels.
